About

Laura Moylan’s love of the piano began with her first lessons at the age of 8. Although she also learned to play the cello, the piano remains Laura’s primary passion, as seen by her doctoral performances. Laura pursued her passion for piano by studying with Emile Naoumoff at Indiana University, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in piano performance. Laura then continued her study of piano by pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of Colorado, Boulder with David Korevaar. It is at CU that Laura discovered a love for French piano composers, particularly Louis Aubert and Gabriel Fauré, who became a focus of her doctoral work.

Laura enjoys working with musicians of all ages as a collaborator and piano instructor. She has worked with young pianists for many years as a private piano teacher and, since 2014, at the Center for Musical Arts in Lafayette, Colorado. As well, Laura is an accompanist for the Boulder Children’s Choir and the Tremble Clefs, a choir associated with the Parkinson’s Association of the Rockies. Moylan is an active solo and collaborative pianist, and has worked with many talented soloists and choirs in Illinois, Indiana, and Colorado.

Laura provides piano lessons at all levels. Students in the Boulder County area of Colorado should contact Laura to inquire about lessons.
